from Best Buy Summary: I wish I had known about this site before I purchased my 27 inch HDTV Advent television!
The TV was delivered on May 31, 2004.
It got a lot of use. About 3 or 4 weeks ago, it started to revert to the dreaded "blue screen". However, I just turned the TV off then on again and it worked fine. This happened for two days.
On the third day, I lost the picture completely. I did have sound. I turned it off and on several times to no avail.
I called Advent and was asked if I had the extended warranty. I did not. Basically, "Vic" told me I was out of luck. After much whining and complaining on my part, he told me to send him an e-mail explaining the circumstances and he would see what he could do. I sent the e-mail and received no response. I sent a follow up e-mail. Still no response. I guess he was right the first time: I was out of luck.
We just brought the TV for a "free" estimate for repair. Hopefully, it's something simple and not too costly.
I would never, never, did I mention never, buy this brand of TV again! Strengths: It did have a nice picture for a short time! Weaknesses: See above comments!
